How to reach the Hotel Roma with your own car

Some essential information and step-by-step directions from the main motorway arteries to reach the Hotel Roma by car.

Our Guests can reach the Hotel Roma with their own car and use a convenient parking service at a garage with which we have an arrangement with which the car will be delivered upon arrival and returned on the day of departure.

BE CAREFUL! From July 1st, 2023 on the whole territory of the Municipality of Bologna will start the Bologna 30 km/h project, please be careful not to exceed this speed limit!

Here is some necessary information:

• the parking service must be booked in writing (by email, note in the online booking,…) at least one day in advance, otherwise it cannot be guaranteed;
• it is a storage service with delivery of the vehicle upon your arrival and delivery at check-out, if the car should become necessary during your stay it will be possible to collect it and return it directly to the partner garage on opening days from Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 20:00, apart from the above, the Hotel Roma will not be able to guarantee a parking space in the hotel’s spaces in via de’ Fusari;
• the parking service ends with check-out, therefore no later than 11:00 in the morning; for later times it will be possible to collect the car directly from the garage on the opening days with payment of the difference for the service;
• upon your arrival it is mandatory, for safety reasons, to hand over the keys to the Reception; moreover, upon arrival, the staff will proceed with annotating the plate for authorization to access the ZTL – Limited Traffic Zone of Bologna; under no circumstances is it permitted to transit on roads with preferential lanes reserved for public transport and first aid, transit in areas closed to vehicular traffic and/or parking on the road in the special blue stalls, even after payment of the amount due to the parking meter at the inside the ZTL area. The Hotel Roma cannot be held responsible for these violations of the Highway Code as they are not pertinent to the above electronic authorization to access the ZTL.

On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays Via de‘ Carbonesi is pedestrianized therefore inaccessible, please pay close attention or follow the instructions below.

ROAD DIRECTIONS (with relative modifications for ongoing road maintenance).

A1 – Coming from Milan

• From the A1, take the junction to switch to the A14 in the direction of Ancona and exit at the “Borgo Panigale” toll booth and, keeping to the left, continue in the direction of the ring road.
• Continue to exit no. 5 “Zanardi – Blades”.
• At the roundabout, take the third exit towards the center and continue straight on until you reach the ring roads recognizable by the presence in the center of the crossroads of the ancient gate of the city walls.
• Going around the door, turn left into viale Pietramellara and right at the next traffic light into via Don Minzoni.
• Continue to the roundabout in Piazza dei Martiri and take the first exit onto via Marconi, being careful to only travel in the lane reserved for cars.
• At the third traffic light, turn left into via Ugo Bassi and right again into via Testoni (attention, beyond this intersection via Ugo Bassi becomes preferential and monitored by RITA camera).
• Turn left into via Porta Nuova and continue straight on.
• Once you arrive in Piazza Roosevelt, take the detour, turning left and when you give precedence, continue straight onto Via della Zecca.
• After a few meters turn right into via dei Terribilia (attention, if you continue straight on, DO NOT turn right at the traffic light into via Ugo Bassi as it is reserved only for public transport and first aid! Turn left and resume the route from via Testoni) and at the next crossroads, turn right into via Venezian.
• When giving way, continue straight along the opposite side of Piazza Roosevelt and follow the curve to the left and then immediately turn right after the State Police car park, entering Piazza Galileo Galilei.
• Take the second road on the left, via Marescalchi, and at the first crossroads, paying attention to vehicles coming from the right having precedence, turn left into via de’ Fusari.
• As soon as you turn, you will find the Hotel Roma on your right.

A1 – Coming from Florence

• Exit at the “Casalecchio di Reno” tollbooth and continue on the ring road until exit no. 5 “Zanardi – Blades”.
• At the roundabout, take the third exit towards the center and continue straight on until you reach the ring roads recognizable by the presence in the center of the crossroads of the ancient gate of the city walls.
• Going around the door, turn left into viale Pietramellara and right at the next traffic light into via Don Minzoni.

A13 – Coming from Padua

• Exit at the “Bologna Arcoveggio” tollbooth and, keeping to the right, follow the signs for “A14 – Ancona Bologna Fiera”.
• At the end of the ring road and entering the ring road, take the first exit no. 7 “Bologna via Stalingrado”.
• Go all the way through via Stalingrado and, once you arrive at the crossroads with the ring road avenues recognizable by the door of the ancient city wall in the centre, turn right onto viale Angelo Masini.
• Continue straight on, passing the Bologna bus station on your left, thus entering viale Pietro Pietramellara.
• At the fourth traffic light, the one you find immediately after passing the Central Train Station on your right in Piazza Medaglie d’Oro, turn left into Via Amendola.
• Continue to the roundabout in Piazza dei Martiri and continue straight on taking the second exit into via Marconi, being careful to only travel in the lane reserved for cars.
• At the third traffic light, turn left into via Ugo Bassi and right again into via Testoni (attention, beyond this intersection via Ugo Bassi becomes preferential and monitored by RITA camera). Turn left into via Porta Nuova and continue straight on.
• Once you arrive in Piazza Roosevelt, take the detour, turning left and when you give precedence, continue straight onto Via della Zecca.

• Exit at the “Bologna San Lazzaro di Savena” tollbooth and continue on the ring road until exit no. 7 “Bologna via Stalingrado”.
• Go all the way through via Stalingrado and, once you arrive at the crossroads with the ring road avenues recognizable by the door of the ancient city wall in the centre, turn right onto viale Angelo Masini.
• Continue straight on, passing the Bologna bus station on your left, thus entering viale Pietro Pietramellara.
